Do you have ideas to improve the Cultural Development Fund? This is your chance.

Thanks to the leadership of Laurie Cumbo, Commissioner for  New York  City’s Department of Culture Affairs (DCLA), all stakeholders of the Culture and Arts sector have the unprecedented opportunity to contribute to the design of the Cultural Development Fund (CDF)— New York City’s peer panel reviewed grant-making program.  

DCLA is inviting artists, cultural workers, and all New Yorkers to contribute to creating rules for the CDF program. Those interested in proposing changes to the competitive grantmaking program should sign up by May 3rd for the upcoming hearing, which will take place online on May 10th. (Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to connect to the hearing).

WHAT: Public Hearing and Opportunity to Comment on New Rules for DCLA’s CDF. 
WHEN: May 10, 2024, 11:00 am. 
WHERE:  Online (on Zoom) — once registered, you will receive an email with a Zoom link. 

Anyone who wants to comment on the proposed rule at the public hearing must register to speak by May 3, 2024, and include your name and affiliation.

  • Testimonies can be submitted by email to  rules@culture.nyc.gov, and a shorter version can be presented during the hearing; participants will have up to 2 minutes to present.
